As it is vacation for a lot of people, I hope to have more success this time. HL2Files is still in need of File & News Posters. Are you active? Can you handle it? You won't quit within a few days or a week? Then by all means do fill in the volunteer list! If you have any questions, don't be afraid to email me. I won't bite.

He/She means that as many people are on holiday they wont be getting people submitting news or people putting files on filfront

so there asking you to volonteer

that means you need to find news on the web about Vavle games or anything releted or put files up on filefront


and i also thing that means submiting pictures and changing the picture of the day everyday as well

i used to work for bf2files back in the day, what this is is say if ur a news poster...u will have access to an admin control panel to where u will type up your story and post quotes from news articles about upcoming mods/updates for half life 2 and the games involved with this site, you will also be in charge of posting screenshots for your news articles as well, as is needed...this means, unless they've changed it recently, you have to put the pics on ur comp and upload them from there

it requires very little knowledge of coding just knowing when to use the quote tags and bold tags for bb code

the files poster is the same, just a bit more in-depth, ive never been a files poster myself, but my assumption is that its the same as the news posting, you just have to say the developer and im guessing you'll have to upload the files to the web...meaning actually upload them to filefront and provide the links...i may be wrong about the file uploading part but thats my guess

and to be a news/file poster you have to be on this site and searching for updates at other sites every day, so you have to be semi-dedicated

Vertigo13 got the news poster thing spot on. But you also have to say where the news originally came from and who it was posted by, i.e. name, website, etc.
A file poster has to download files to their computer then upload them to the correct website using an FTP program then add a description, readme, screenshots, etc to the file and then upload it to the site. I may be wise to have a broadband connection when uploading large files.

Other then that. You can transfer files as well from direct links. You can do a server to server transfer then. Which means directly transferring from the direct link to HL2Files. Which also means you don't need a fast internet speed to do that. s2s transfers are much faster then when you upload them yourself.

It works fine Ghost. As long you don't have a pop-up blocker.

I submitted my map on June 30th and its still not up. Now I understand why. Whomever accepts the file-uploader position gets a cookie!
