Description:
Version 1.5 Release.

In this version I fixed the following:
-Increased # of zombies that are active to speed up the waves.
-Increased # of zombies in some waves.
-Added the Zombine
-Added an ar2 rifle.
-Disabled bullet damage to friendly combines.

Outpost Defense 01

The first map (a demo actually) to a three map series. This map is a defensive invasion style map. You are part of a combine squad, isolated in a ravenholm outpost. You have been cut off from overwatch and your primary objective is to repel the incoming zombie waves. You have combine technology at your disposal along with a few combine soldiers. Fight side by side and hold out.

For Half life 2: Episode 2.

Installation Instructions
-------------------------

-Simply place the bsp file in your Half life 2 ep2 maps directory. In the console type: map Defense_01.



About
-----

-This is my first upload ever using source sdk mapping. Ive been inspired by many defensive

style maps to make this. This is the first map of a 3 map series I will be making.

You are a combine soldier, deep within ravenholm, you lost contact with overwatch. You take

up a defensive position because you can hear the screeching and yelling of zombies, slowly

making their way to the outpost. Along side fellow combine soldiers, hold out wave after wave

of advancing zombies


Guide to playing
----------------

-You will start off in the outpost walls. Ahead are some barricades in which fellow combine

soldiers will take cover behind.

-There are several waves of zombies, each increasing in number and power.

-After every wave or so, some reinforcements will come and reinforce your defensive positions

(The soldiers will stay near the barricades).

-There are some energy fences in which after every couple of waves will deactivate, allowing you to

use some combine technology to help your cause.

-Starting off in the room to the right where the turrets are, is a keypad button. Upon pressing this

a combine scanner will appear just below the cylinder-like pipe. The scanner will move towards each

of the pathways where the zombies advance from, equipping and dropping mines. After dropping them

it will make its way back to where it was spawned disappearing. (You have 2 mine scanners.)

-There is another little sector in the back, blocked by an energy field, which will deactivate

after completing several rounds. Upon pressing the keypad in there, another combine scanner will

appear outside above the roof. It will make its way down and scan for an enemy. After it scans

and flashes an enemy, it will disappear, alerting the outpost, in which a combine elite soldier

will come running out to assist. (You have two alert scanners).

-After clearing all waves, a message saying "Facility secured" will appear announcing you won the

level.

-There is a ceiling turret that will gun down anything that makes its way deep into the outpost. Use

this as a safe zone.


Some issues I am aware of
-------------------------

-My texturing and level detail is amateur, I know, but it will get better with continuous practice :)

-There are some combine issues, such as throwing a grenade and killing themselves with it, Its mainly

the AI coding on that one.

-Becareful not to block the scanners path dropping the mines. It will lose its path corner direction,

floating away and disappearing.

-Stay away from the mines that are dropped from the scanners. They are hostile towards you as well

as the zombies. Im not sure how to change their relationship on drop.

-Im continuously working on ways to improve this. I appreciate any constructive criticism or

suggestions you may have. Got an idea? Let me know, and ill try my best to use them!

-Any questions on how I made the map I would be glad to answer.
