Description:
This is a script created for the recording of up to 50 demos consecutively while only using 1 button for start and stop recording.

It has been used in HL2 and CSS so far but should work under all Source Engine games.

All the information needed (and not needed) is located in the readme.

obviously you've never made any gaming vids crazy. its useful, i used to record about 30 demos a match back when i was filming for my jk2 vid. props to the author, nice.

could you...like...explain the use to me a little more?
I've made gaming vids...but what's the use of recording 50 demos with the same content? or does it record from different angles?

it just numbers them for u... so instead of "record dem1" and then "stop" and then "record dem2" and so on u just press a button of ur choice and it records to the next number...

So.. how big are the file sizes of therse things roughly? (taking into acount all vids wil be diff sizes) what's the size of say a 5 minute Video?

Vanguard - I have recorded a few demos to test out the size and over 5 minutes it will vary but stay around 2.5mbs in most cases (from my testing, though these were taken in CSS the size shouldn't be more than that in most cases on anything else using the source engine).
Now these are just recordings of the games from the games and have to be transfered into a video either by using some of the inbuilt features (you can read about these in the steampowered forums and there is also some very good/important information about demo's in source

the_cleric - It records from which ever view you are seeing at the time but because of the work valve has put into the source engine there are a lot of things you can do with the demo after you have taken it (read above). I'm not sure what you mean about the same content because if you record one after the other the content in each isn't going to be the same? Not quite sure what you mean.

kinda...missed the word "consecutively"....lol my bad
and I know how demo's are recorded...I was just wondering because I read it differently somehow ^^....doesn't matter now

I'm still unsure on how to turn dem files into somthing useable... can somone tell me how??? that large post didnt help me. Lol, i n00b

I made a few demos and shared them with a few friends of mine. As soon as they were finished they had all my settings and were logging on as me. Talk about Identity Theft! lol. Is there anyway I can share demos without the settings getting all funky???
