Half Life 2 Dr Breen's Quest for the Holy Grail - File Description  


Description:
This is a small map by JimmyD containing a short scene involving part of 'Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail' . I can't compare this with the film because I havn't seen it stick out tongue, but after watching this, i intent too soon. There are three characters, i won't say who these are( you should download this and find out for yourself!!), but are played by Breen, Barney and Alyx.

The scene itself I found very entertaining, and the animation, especially the faces were great. At a standard i'd expect the creators of Half Life 2 to had made it. The sound , which i would guess was taken directly off the film can be a bit 'muffly' at times, although not so much i couldn't understand what was being said. The surrounding map i didn't notice too much, but the lighting fits the scene well.

I look forward to seeing what else JimmyD will produce, well done!

From the author of Dr Breen's Funky Breakdancing (also on filefront) comes this new map!


About - This is my first foray into the field of face poser. The map isn't a spectacular setpiece, but it serves to show off the scene. It isn't designed to be "ultra realistic", just something to giggle at, seeing Dr Breen, Dr Mossman and Barney acting out roles from Monty Python.

This map is not intended to be in anyway derogatory to Monty Python, their films, or many brilliant sketches. Don't use this map in any compilations without asking me first. This map isn't to be sold, either.



Instructions - To use this in HL2, put the contents of "maps" into the HL2 folder of maps
e.g. ...SteamApps\username\half-life 2\hl2\maps

Put the conent of the "scenes" folder into HL2's scenes
e.g. ...SteamApps\username\half-life 2\hl2\scenes

And, finally, drop the folder inside "sounds" into the sound folder. Don't take the sounds out of the "grail" folder that they're in, when it's inside the sound folder,otherwise the scene won't be able to find the sound.
e.g. ...SteamApps\username\half-life 2\hl2\sound

To play the level, open the console in HL2, then type "map holygrail.bsp" (no speech marks). The map should start up, and Dr Breen and co should start

I hope you enjoy it, and before I start getting floods of emails telling me how terrible I am at this, bear in mind that A) This is my first face poser scene and B) It's only for fun! I'm not a professional!

I'm well aware that there are a few bits that could be improved (him repressing the peasant, for example) and if anyone really wants to finish it off, send me an email and I can send you the .vmf for it. There aren't any bugs that render it unplayable, so it's just a novelty to watch Dr Breen and friends discussing medieval politics.
