Description:
A preview of some of my upcoming "Channel17". A7 TV show based on "Pop Idol" and "American Idol".

Doctor Breen, in an attempt to make a popular television program, tries to find the best singer in City 17; to do so, he launches a competition, where contestants have to sing to impress the judge (sound familiar yet?), with his best buddy the G-Man as the sole arbiter (with the voice of Simon Cowell). Featuring other TV shows set within the HL2 Universe. It's just a short scene, as an example.

	Readme File: Channel 17 Preview: City17 Idol HL2 Map by JimmyD jim_o_dearden@hotmail.com From the author of the Holy Grail maps (also on filefront) comes a look at one of the TV shows that the lucky citizens of City 17 get to entertain themselves with. About - Doctor Breen, in an attempt to make a popular television program, attempts to find the best singer in City 17; to do so, he launches a competition, where contestants have to sing to impress the judge (sound familiar yet?), with his bestest buddy the G-Man as the sole arbitor (with the voice of Simon Cowell). It's only a small scene, but it's a preview for another project I'm working on at the moment: Channel 17. I thought that they can't spend ALL day watching Dr Breen talking and talking, so they must have some other kind of program - I'm engineering a humorous look at what they show on television in City 17. Still trying to think up other ideas for programs, I'm open to suggestions for what people watch on TV in this lovely dystopia. Anyone who fancies helping with the Channel17 Project should drop me a line as well - I need other voices! Instructions - To use this in HL2, put the contents of "maps" into the HL2 folder of maps e.g. ...SteamApps\username\half-life 2\hl2\maps Put the content of the "scenes" folder into HL2's scenes e.g. ...SteamApps\username\half-life 2\hl2\scenes [\ch17] (MAKE SURE THE SUB-FOLDERS STAY THE SAME, OR IT WON'T BE ABLE TO FIND THE FILES!) Put the contents of "materials" into your materials folder of hl2, making sure to keep them inside the "idolatry" folder within materials. e.g. ...SteamApps\username\half-life 2\hl2\materials [\idolatry] DON'T TAKE THEM OUT OF "IDOLATRY" FOLDER, OTHERWISE IT WON'T BE ABLE TO FIND THEM And, finally, drop the folder inside "sounds" into the sound folder. Don't take the sounds out of the "Channel17\Sime" folder that they're in, when it's inside the sound folder, otherwise the scene won't be able to find the sound. e.g. ...SteamApps\username\half-life 2\hl2\sound [\channel17\Sime] (ONCE AGAIN, MAKE SURE THE SOUNDS STAY IN THEIR SUB-FOLDERS) To play the level, open the console in HL2, then type "map idolatry.bsp" (no speech marks). because this is just a small cutscene i will not download it,
why i comment is because of the o so stupid comment of NOOBexterminator, please just comment on the maps, and when you can't do that then just say nothing. comments as; i'm the first one here, etc are so stupid.
