This should be the final Hires-Texturepack. Future updates including Hires-Props and Hires-Tiles will be released as a separate package after Valves release of the Aftermath expansion.

This pack replace the facemap-textures of the following characters:

Alyx
Barney
Dr. Breen
Father Grigori
Eli
Dr. Kleiner
Mossman
Colonel Odessa
Vortigaunts
Vortigaunt-Slaves
Police
Soldiers
All civilian and squad-members

Additional replaced body-textures:

Alyx
Barney
Father Grigori
Eli
Dr. Kleiner
Mossman
Civilian
Antlions
Antlion-Guard
Police
Soldiers
Dog


The facemaps of the main-characters are coming with full 2048 x 2048 pixels facemaps - all others civilians/squad-members with 1024 x 1024 pixels. This is because, you'll never get close enought to the civilians or squad-members to see the full resolution of a massive 2048px texture. Even a 1024px facemap needs at least a 1600 x 1200 game-resolution to take full effect. Remember: You'll never get the full quality of the textures below a 1600 x 1200 game-resolution.

I call the texturepack a final release, but there is plenty of room for improvements. If you want to use my textures as an base for further improvements, feel free to do it. But be so kind, to give credits to me.


Requirements:
-------------

- Well... Half-Life2 installed
- A graphics-card, that can handle 2048 x 2048 pixel textures (any DirectX9 card should be okay).
- plenty of RAM (you will see some ingame-stuttering with less than 1 GB ram)




Installation:
-------------

Copy the materials folders to your <path to SteamApps>/<username>/Half-life 2/hl2/ folder. If you want to return to the low-resolution textures, remove them. You can copy them to your <path to SteamApps>/<username>/SourceMods/garrysmod folder, so you can enjoy the new skins in Garry's MOD.





As an old-fashioned unreal-mapper, this is my first skinning-job - so be polite with your critics ;)
