CS: Source Indoor Shooting Range Practice Map (Beta 0.1) - File Description  


Description:
This map is intended for aim practice (obviously) and there isn't many features in the map, but more will be added as time goes by.

More Information
  • To go to your paper to see how you've done, there are two small doors - one on the left and another on the right.

  • To buy weapons, simply go up to the counter or whatever you want to call it and it will trigger a buy zone.

  • Before starting the game, in the "Create Game" menu, you should set your buytime to a high amount because there is no possible way for you to get any money in this level.

  • Type "sv_cheats 1" and then "impulse 101" to get full money for more weapons. If you run out of money again just type in "impulse 101" without typing "sv_cheats 1"

    INSTALLATION:

    Copy "Maps" and "Materials" into your cstrike
    directory (usually "C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\username@wateva.com\
    counter-strike source\cstrike") and play

    - This map is intended for aim practice

    Known Bugs:

    - The door behind the counter in the terrorist
    shooting range is openable and if you walk
    out you'll fall like Wile E. Coyote. :) This
    would be fixed when a new room will be created.


    Future Plans:

    - More rooms (that door you see will no longer
    be locked as soon as I know how to get the
    button to unlock it.

    - Movable shooting paper

    - Some other stuff along the way :)

    In the next release, you really need a room where one team of bots spawns so you can use them for practice. Just make a Navigation file so that they run around the room, but never come out.

    maybe like #4 moving targets, maybe even let them fire bck bt miss all the time for the added effect off bullets coming towards u and having to duck and everything. also the bots could hide behind things and pop up to shot bck.... but maybe im going to far now lolResistance is Futile!

    ---I had noticed on the targets, scoring so i thought maybe you could put sum triggers in that when the bullet hits a certain area it triggers a score that could be displaied either on the divider wall or above the target.
    ---another thing instead of them all being down make it so on the dividing wall there is a button or even on the cubical counter a button that brings the target down big grin and possible activates the score keeper.
    ---have on the bottom of the floor pillars that mark the range so one at 100ft and another at 200ft kinda thing. this way we know the distance
    ---in reguard with the pillars adjustable targets range
    ---a button that animates the target(moves) and ajust its speed. i know i love my buttons but im sure you could think of a better way to activate the triggers then a bunch of buttons on a wall
    ---A BUTTON that moves the target right to you....for realism effect
    ---ulitmate realism effect have sum booths with bots shooting in them....shooting blanks that is

    anyways a bunch of ideas like you wanted from me yes im a guest but i really want to see this idea grow who knows you make it good anough and it may be put into sum servers rotates to provide practice for its players

    Hi!

    I am SOOO happy that I found this map of yours, I've been dying to get something exactly like this. BIG THANK YOU!!

    As for suggestions: I think you should hook youself up with a copy of cs_academy_beta it can be found at fidosrevenge.com. That map was awsome as well, so just put all of it's features into your map.

    Other things you could add would be counters that tally up your headshots, chest, stomach, left arm... you see where I'm going with this? And possible with some way of resetting those values to 0. If you could do that this map would be MORE than TOTALLY AWSOME, it would just go off the charts.

    You rule man!

    Does anyone know if it's possible to import a bsp into hammer?? I sort of lost all the files for this map on my old busted hard drive.
